Security camera installation in Gainesville, with a system you own outright.

Plenty of Gainesville security companies sell alarm monitoring on a monthly contract. Security camera installation from DLT comes with no contract: you buy the system and you own it.

Security cameras in Gainesville and Alachua County

Cable internet reaches most of Gainesville. Unlike properties further out, a camera system here doesn’t usually need the internet fixed first, so the cameras can be a job on their own. The Gainesville service area page covers Starlink out in rural Alachua County, and cameras and Wi-Fi in town.

Common camera challenges in Gainesville houses and rentals

Older Gainesville houses bring their own challenges: brick that needs masonry anchors to hold a mount, plaster walls that are hard to get cable through without cracking, and dense neighborhoods where a camera can see more of next door than of your own yard. In rentals and student housing, anything installed may have to be taken down again.

Owning your cameras instead of paying for monitoring

With the cameras DLT recommends, you own the system outright, with no monitoring subscription attached, and you reach it from your phone. What you give up is the monitoring center. With a monitored alarm, a call center is alerted when the alarm goes off, calls you to check, and can send emergency services. With a system you own, nobody else is watching. Checking what the cameras see, and deciding what to do about it, is up to you.

Questions about security cameras in Gainesville

Donnie answers the phone Monday to Saturday, 9am to 7pm.

Do I need a monitoring contract in Gainesville?

No. Plenty of companies here sell monitoring, but a camera system doesn’t need it. With the cameras DLT recommends, you own the system with no monitoring fee. Cameras DLT didn’t recommend can be installed too, but depending on the cameras, they may need cloud storage with a monthly fee.

Can cameras be installed on an older Gainesville house?

Yes. Brick needs a different kind of mount, and plaster changes how the cable gets inside the walls, so mention what your walls are made of when you ask for a quote.

I’m renting. Can I have cameras?

That depends on your lease. Mention that you’re renting when you ask for a quote, so the plan fits what your landlord allows.

Will my cameras record the neighbor’s yard?

They don’t have to. Most cameras can black out part of the picture, so a neighbor’s window or yard is never recorded. In a dense neighborhood that’s worth setting up from the start.

Tell us about the property. We’ll give you a quote or explain what else we need.
