Security camera installation and Wi-Fi in Jacksonville

Cable internet reaches nearly every address in Jacksonville, so the work here is rarely about getting online. It’s about getting the connection to every part of the property, and cameras on the buildings and the ground around them. Jacksonville is about an hour east of Lake City on I-10, so whole-property and business jobs make the best use of the drive.

Security cameras for businesses and properties with several buildings

Jacksonville covers 747 square miles of land, so a business with two sites can have them a long drive apart, and a single site often has an office, a shop and a yard. Commercial security camera installation starts with connecting the buildings: where a cable run across the yard isn’t practical, a point-to-point wireless link does it, with a radio on each building aimed at the other. You own the system outright. With the cameras DLT recommends, there’s no monitoring subscription and no contract to leave.

Wi-Fi for large houses, older houses and waterfront lots

Riverside and Avondale make up one of the largest historic districts in the country, with about 5,000 buildings. In houses built before the 1950s, plaster walls often sit on metal lath, which blocks much of a Wi-Fi signal, so one router seldom covers the house. Jacksonville also has 1,100 miles of shoreline, more than any other city in Florida, and the St. Johns River runs through it. For older houses and for lots on the water, whole home and property Wi-Fi works the same way: several Wi-Fi units working as one network, fed by cable wherever a cable can reach, and outdoor-rated units for the yard and the water’s edge.

Starlink in Jacksonville: when you need it and when cable is enough

Cable reaches nearly all of Jacksonville, and fiber reaches a large part of it. For most homes in the city, Starlink isn’t needed to get online. The city is also the largest in the lower 48 by land area, and the Northside and Westside still take in a vast tract of undeveloped land. If your address is out there and cable has never reached it, professional Starlink installation is the usual answer. Check the FCC’s National Broadband Map with your address first. Motorhomes, RVs and boats are regular Starlink work too.

TV mounting in older Jacksonville houses

In an older house the wall behind the TV may be plaster or brick instead of drywall, and each takes its own anchors. TV mounting and home theater setup covers drywall, brick, concrete and plaster, with the TV on a bracket rated for its weight and the wires hidden. Smart home work, like thermostats, locks and lighting, can go on the same quote request.

The drive from Lake City to Jacksonville, and which jobs it suits

Downtown Jacksonville is about 61 miles from Lake City by road, a little over an hour on I-10. The beaches are about 81 miles. At that distance, a whole house, a whole property or a business makes the most sense. Donnie, the owner, quotes every job and leads every install.

Is Starlink worth it in Jacksonville if I already have cable?

Usually not. One national tracker puts cable at about 98 percent of Jacksonville addresses and fiber at about 64 percent. If cable or fiber already reaches your house, Starlink rarely makes sense as your only internet. Put your address into the FCC’s National Broadband Map to see what providers report there.

Can you get Wi-Fi out to my dock?

It depends on the distance and what’s in between. A Wi-Fi unit mounted outdoors, without a cable to it, has to sit within about 33 feet of the next unit, and 50 feet at most. A network cable buried out to a unit near the dock works up to about 328 feet. Farther than that, a point-to-point wireless link does it. A long gap with a clear view from end to end, like one over open water, works better than a short gap through trees.

Do you come out to the beaches?

The beaches are inside the service area. Jacksonville Beach is about 81 miles from Lake City by road. Ask on the call.

Is there a travel charge?

If the drive adds any cost, it’s included in your quote.

Do you offer a military discount?

Yes. Veterans and active-duty military receive $50 off qualifying installations and service calls of $350 or more.

Tell us about the property. We’ll give you a quote or explain what else we need.
